Setup Guide

The Verdict

The RG35XX Plus is Anbernic's ultra-budget entry with WiFi and Bluetooth, making it a slight step up from the Miyoo Mini Plus. For $65, you get a competent GBA/SNES/Genesis machine with wireless connectivity AND decent N64/PSP/DS support that the Miyoo can't touch. If you want WiFi for scraping box art or Bluetooth for wireless controllers, this edges out the Miyoo. The H700 chip is significantly more capable than people give it credit for.

First Thing to Do

1. **Install muOS or MinUI** — Stock firmware is rough

2. **Get a good MicroSD card** — Use the dual slots wisely (one for OS, one for ROMs)

3. **Connect to WiFi** — Scrape box art, update firmware over the air

4. **Load your ROMs** — Focus on GBA, SNES, Genesis, N64, PSP, DS

The Loadout

**GBA:** gpSP (perfect)

**GB/GBC:** Gambatte (flawless)

**SNES:** Snes9x (most games run well)

**Genesis:** PicoDrive (perfect)

**NES:** FCEUmm (no issues)

**PS1:** PCSX ReARMed (most games run great)

**N64:** Mupen64Plus (Mario 64, Zelda OoT, Mario Kart all great)

**PSP:** PPSSPP (2D games and lighter 3D titles)

**DS:** DraStic (most games work well)

What It Crushes

**GBA library** — Pokémon, Fire Emblem, Metroid Fusion all perfect

**Genesis** — Full library runs flawlessly

**16-bit era** — SNES and Genesis are the sweet spot

**N64 classics** — Mario 64, Zelda, Mario Kart, Smash Bros all play great

What It Struggles With

**PS1 3D games** — Demanding titles can chug

**SNES SuperFX games** — Star Fox, Yoshi's Island have slowdown

**PSP demanding games** — God of War, Crisis Core won't run well

**Dreamcast** — Very hit or miss

Skip These

**PS2/GameCube** — Not possible

**3DS** — Not possible

**PSP demanding 3D games** — Not enough power

Pro Tips

1. **WiFi is great for box art scraping** — Makes the UI look way better

2. **Bluetooth lets you pair wireless controllers** — Great for couch play

3. **Dual MicroSD slots are clutch** — Separate OS and ROMs

4. **N64 and DS work better than you'd expect** — Don't skip these!

Worth It?

Yes, if you want WiFi/Bluetooth and decent N64/PSP/DS support on a budget. At $65, it's a huge step up from the Miyoo Mini Plus in capabilities. The H700 chip handles way more than just 16-bit games.

Setup Tips

  • WiFi and Bluetooth support for wireless controllers
  • Install muOS or MinUI for best experience (stock firmware is mediocre)
  • Dual MicroSD slots for extra storage
  • N64 works great with Mupen64Plus — most games are fully playable
  • PSP runs many 2D and lighter 3D games via PPSSPP
  • DS games work well via DraStic

Watch Out For

  • !Only 1GB RAM (limits multitasking)
  • !Stock firmware is mediocre — custom firmware is essential
  • !PSP and N64 need per-game tweaking for best results
  • !No analog sticks (limits N64 and PSP experience)
